Phyllis Beck was a passionate artist who painted nearly everyday throughout her adult life.  She passed away in 2008 at the age of 87, leaving behind an incredible collection of her paintings and a legacy of inspired students, friends, and family.  She firmly believed that art was the easiest way to take a vacation without ever leaving home.  Her artistic drive and unceasing love for art influenced all whom she met.  She will be dearly missed, but she will continue to live through her paintings.

Phyllis taught painting classes at the Riverbend Art Center and was a member of the Dayton Society of Painters & Sculptors, the Dayton Tri-Art, Preble County Art Association, and the Ohio Watercolor Society.  Her work is found in collections around the country.
